Bad scaphoid!
So it looks like Yvonne has done more than sprain her wrist, and has in fact fractured her scaphoid.
It’s the type of fracture that doesn’t readily show up on x-rays, but from what she’s describing, the docs think she has indeed fractured it. We’ll be back in on Friday for another x-ray to find out more. If it is fractured, it will be in plaster for the next 6 weeks. Yvonne can’t drive with it so we’re in the process of working out what we’re going to do with the school runs. Time for Operation Help Us Out Athy.
